Man arrested in connection with Ironton church fire
IRONTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A man was arrested in connection with a church fire investigation.
According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, while responding to a call about threats being made to family by Brendan Harris, they found items that were stolen from the church.
Harris was then found at a home in Farmington where he was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Deputies say Harris was out on parole for burglary and is now facing multiple felony charges.
Earlier on Wednesday, around 3 a.m., the sheriff’s office was dispatched to a fire at Gospel Trinity Pentecostal Church, 3431 Iron County Road 6.
Little was left of the Ironton Gospel Trinity Church by Wednesday afternoon, September 14.
Our crew saw bomb and arson squads working th scene.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate the cause of the fire.
