My name is Steve Dudley and I'm from Ballwin/St. Louis county. I love photography, and lightning may be my favorite thing to photograph. I could NOT pass up an opportunity like this! These photos were taken on the night of July 7, 2012 between 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 facing north. This particular storm had some amazing lightning, so I got the Nikon D200 out and set my shutter speed to 30 seconds, at an ISO of 100 with an aperture of f16, zoomed out at 18mm and focused at infinity. These were my two favorite, the one with the ring in the bolt was CLOSE! Mother nature sure has a beautiful dark side.
