Yesterday while sitting outside, I was watching all the little squirrels running from tree to tree and could hear how dry the leaves were as they rustled about in the backwoods. I was thinking that they are bound to be thirsty, especially with the creeks drying up, and no rain in sight so, after cutting the insides out of a watermelon, I poured water in the hull and set it outside for them to drink out of, and at one time, there was eight sitting around it drinking the water and nibbling the melon. I ran to get the camera, and when I returned, there was three left, evidently they like melons too!
