Eryn Sofia was not due to arrive until December 31, 2010, but her mommy had some complications and had to be induced a week early. On Christmas Eve mommy was induced and the labor process started. Labor progressed and at 8:06pm Eryn finally made her appearance. We say finally because her shoulder had gotten stuck under mommy's pelvis. When the midwife placed Eryn on mommy's chest she was very blue and not breathing. The nurses tried to get Eryn to breathe, but she wasn't responsive. Eryn was taken over to the warmer and tubes inserted into her lungs. After a few long, scary moments Eryn took her first breath and was deemed our miracle baby. Eryn Sofia was expected to weigh nearly 9lbs, but arrived at only 7lb 8oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Her foot print now graces the walls of Anderson Hospital and her presence fills the hearts of everyone she meets.
