This photograph taken on December 11, 2011 shows residents travelling on a boat looking at a dramatic cloud formation during sunset near the erupting Mount Gamalana volcano on the island of Ternate. The volcano began its explosive eruption on December 4, 2011 dumping volcanic ash and mud in surrounding villages after it spewed ash 2,000 meters into the air forcing the closure of domestic airport. Mount Gamalana, forms the entire island of Ternate in North Maluku province. Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
