Victim shot while waiting at north St. Louis stop light

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV) -- A suspect opened fire on a person waiting at a north St. Louis stop light early Monday morning.

Police the victim was stopped at a red light near the intersection of Halls Ferry and McLaran around 2 a.m. when a tan-colored vehicle pulled up.

A suspect in the tan vehicle fired several shots, one of which struck the victim in the face.

Police said the victim fled to his Ferguson apartment, where he then called police.

The victim's injuries were believed to be minor.

Authorities did not have a description of the suspect.
