ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV)— A 3-alarm fire destroyed a warehouse and damaged a handful of other buildings in south St. Louis early Thursday morning.
Crews responded to the scene in the 3400 block of Juanita shortly after 2:30 a.m. and saw an empty brick warehouse engulfed in flames.
The fire was quickly upgraded to a third alarm after it began spreading. Firefighters were forced to evacuate after the front of the building began to collapse.
Two nearby garages and a shed were damaged after the fire spread.
No injuries were reported.
At one point, 800 residents were without power after the fire took out nearby powerlines.
The neighborhood has about 14,000 residents.
There's no word on what started the fire, but officials said an investigation is underway.
