(KMOV.com) -- 4Warn Meteorologist Kristen Cornett went to Kansas to watch how the winter storm developed as it progressed across the state of Missouri.
Kristen started in Kansas on Wednesday afternoon. The snow picked up as she made her way to Salina, Ks.
Kristen left Kansas Thursday morning and instead of the two hour drive Kansas City, Mo. The trip took eight hours before Kristen even made it across the Missouri state line.
Kristen said the pace of travel picked up Thursday as she made her way to St. Louis. The highway was packed with cars and trucks on the side of the road waiting to be cleared.
Kristen finally made it to Columbia, Mo. Thursday night. Columbia received almost nine inches of snow.
“It has been quite the road trip for my photographer Ryan Bellamy and I,” said Kristen on Thursday night.
