(KMOV)-- Only News 4 obtained a copy of the 9-1-1 call made in Tuesday’s standoff in Maryland Heights.

You hear the wife begging for help and telling the dispatcher her husband was choking her. A few minutes later you hear her husband,  Nicholas Otz, 33, telling her to get off the phone and that he will shoot,  kill them, being “the cops,”  when they get there.

Negotiators were able to talk Otz into surrendering after a long standoff. Police found six guns including two assault rifles inside the home.
The couple has been married for ten months. Otz doesn’t have a violent criminal record, although police have been called out on a few occasions for domestic disturbance.
