SWANSEA, Il (KMOV.com) -- Fire fighters from Swansea and Fairview Heights responded to the scene of a house fire on Ednick Drive Monday night. The home belongs to Swansea Mayor Jim Rauckman, who has been locked in a fued with fire personnel for most of the year.

Rauckman has sparred with the Swansea Fire Department over issues including an attempt to oust Fire Chief John McGuire.

Last week more trouble erupted when a firefighter reportedly made an obscene post on Facebook about the mayor.

At the scene chief McGuire says firefighters were at the home within two minutes of getting call and the mayor got no less response than anyone else.

At the scene, Chief McGuire said firefighters were at the home within two minutes of getting the call and the mayor got no less response than anyone else.

The mayor's wife told News 4 her 14-year-old son accidentally started the fire by burning Ramen noodles on the stove and tossing them in the trash can outside next to the house.

The home sustained significant damage in the front, though no one was injuried in the incident.
