ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – The Circuit Attorney's Office has issued warrants for a suspect who authorities said was involved in an officer-involved shooting at St. Louis University Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Officials have charged Tevin Martin, 21, from north St. Louis with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.

On Wednesday, police said multiple suspects were taken to SLU Hospital by an acquaintance after 30 to 40 shots were fired during a shooting in the 2800 block of Stoddard Street.

According to police, as the suspects headed into the hospital emergency department, an officer noticed Martin had a weapon. Police said Martin reached for the gun and the officer fired one shot at the suspect.  Martin then, reportedly, got into a car and fled from the hospital.  While fleeing, he crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Forest Park Parkway and Kingshighway.  He was arrested at the scene and later transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

No officers were hurt in the incident.

Officials said three other suspects who were injured in the initial shooting are being treated at SLU. Two of them suffered gunshot wounds.

No other details are being released at this time.
