FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police say a father of four who was attacked during a washers tournament in Florissant has died.

Randy Feger was in a coma for more than a week after police say he was attacked by an acquaintance at Pirate’s Cove Bar & Grill during a washers tournament on November 8. He was pronounced dead around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Florissant police initially arrested the suspect, but he was released since no charges were issued.

St. Louis County prosecutors are asking for more evidence before charging the man.

“Anybody who has the capability of doing this would be dangerous,” Florissant Police Officer Andy Haarmann said.  “We have to keep investigating and working with the prosecutor to get the result.”

Florissant police say they are still investigating the attack and will apply for more serious criminal charges now that Feger has passed away.

For now, police are not releasing the suspect’s name.

Police expect to release more information when they collect additional evidence.
