A senior prank at one California high school even had the principal smiling.

Seniors spent three weeks and $900 building a giant hamster wheel.

Corlin Palmer says he came up with the idea while watching his rabbit on its wheel.

"And I thought 'we need to build a huge one of those," he recalls.

Seniors brought the wheel to school early Thursday morning.

They say it was symbolic of the academic rat race.
