ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – Police are investigating after suspects used an SUV to break into a Rent-A-Center in north St. Louis Thursday morning.

The call came in just after 3 a.m. for a break-in at the Rent-A-Center on the 4300 block of Natural Bridge and Newstead after a witness saw a black SUV back into the rear door of the building.

Police say a second suspect got out of a grey SUV and ran into the store along with the first suspect.

Authorities believe the suspects fled when the security alarm sounded. Officers reportedly arrived moments later.

Police did not confirm if anything was taken from the store. There was no word on the extent of damage done to the building.

Witnesses told police the suspect fled the scene heading north on Newstead in the SUV.

No suspect descriptions were given.
