(KMOV) – Hours after helping a client get acquitted, a prominent local defense attorney was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a head-on crash in Brentwood early Tuesday morning.
According to police, Scott Rosenblum was driving a Bentley in the 1800 block of McKnight around 12:15 a.m. when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck.
Brentwood police say Rosenblum, of Rosenblum, Schwartz, Rogers & Glass, P.C., was arrested at the scene and faces charges of driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.
The incident came just hours after Rosenblum helped acquit Daniel Hughes, who had been accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl at a Clayton Ritz-Carlton Hotel more than three years ago.
John P. Rogers, an attorney for Rosenblum, said the high-profile case helped lead to the crash.
"Scott had successfully acquitted Mr. Hughes after a jury trial that lasted well over a week," Rogers said in a statement to News 4. "The hours of preparation and exhaustion that followed was certainly a factor that contributed to the accident.
Additional details surrounding the wreck were not immediately available.
