(KMOV.com) -- A lightning rod issue led to a heated debate Wednesday night in one west St. Louis County community.

The fight is still going in Ellisville over tax breaks to bring a Walmart to a major intersection.

The proposal has led to politcal fights, the impeachment of the mayor, his reinstatement and a lot of lawyers.

Wednesday the council approved to move forward with the tax breaks – or TIF- by a narrow margin and after some pretty heated exchanges.
