COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Jordan Barnett scored 43 points—the most in a championship game in 31 years—and grabbed 20 rebounds to help Christian Brothers College defeat Hickman 86-77 in overtime to claim the Class 5 boys championship Saturday.
A Texas signee, Barnett converted 15 of 22 shots and 12 of 15 free throw attempts to help Christian Brothers College (25-7) win its sixth title.
Hickman scored nine of the final 13 points in regulation to knot the score at 71. But Joshua Webster hit a reverse layup to spark a 9-2 Cadet run to start the extra period.
Jimmy Whitt led Hickman (26-3) with 29 points. Chris Clark added 18 for the Kewpies, who made only one of their 11 attempts from the field in overtime.
