(KMOV.com) There are many events taking place throughout the St. Louis area to honor our nations Veterans on Monday.
Below is a list of events taking place throughout the city.
The 1st Annual City of Arnold Veterans Day Parade will take place at 11:00 a.m. Participants are asked to meet at the Walgreens on the corner of Tenbrook and Jeffco Blvd. at 10:30 a.m.
The American Legion Post 335 will be holding a Veteran’s Day Program at the Missouri Veteran’s Home located at 10600 Lewis and Clark Boulevard on 10 AM.
Two casinos are offering free buffets to veterans: River City Casino & Hotel in St. Louis and Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in St. Charles. A veteran’s card or valid military ID should be presented to the buffet cashier to qualify for the complimentary meal. One per person, gratuity not included, Complimentary meal valid for veteran only and companion meals are at full price.
The St. Charles County Veterans Committee and St. Charles City Veterans Commission will host their annual Veterans Day Program starting at 1:30 p.m. on the grounds of St. Charles County’s Historic Courthouse located at 100 N. Third St., St. Charles. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs as seating is limited. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the St. Charles County Administration Building, 201 N. Second St., Room 115/116, St. Charles.
Waterway Carwash will provide free car washes and discounted gasoline to honor and recognize veterans and current military service personnel. In order to receive a FREE Full Service car wash (an exterior car wash plus vacuum, window-cleaning and thorough hand-dry), 10¢ off every gallon of gasoline, and a free fountain soda, veterans and currently serving military personnel will only need to verbally inform Waterway.
Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Missouri will conduct bell ringing ceremonies at long term care facilities in and around St. Louis including Sunrise of Des Peres, Westchester House and Big Bend Wood at 11:00 a.m.
For proper American flag disposal, several members of the Rotary Club of High Ridge and Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 1028 will be unveiling secure, steel American Flag collection boxes that have a drop opening. The box is located at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 2700 Ridge Point Drive, High Ridge, MO. Another American Flag collection box will be placed on Veterans Day outside Radeackers AG Market, 6771 Mall Drive, Cedar Hill, MO. Additional collection box locations throughout the St. Louis area are planned.
Applebee’s is offering a free meal to current and former service members.
Hooters is inviting all veterans and active duty military to enjoy a free meal, up to $10.99 in value with any drink purchase, just by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location. Hooters is also showing support with the annual Operation Calendar Drop. Guests can purchase a 2014 Hooters Calendar for the troops and personalize it with a message of appreciation. Hooters will ship these calendars to U.S. military stationed overseas.

To receive free healthcare directives local heroes simply need to stop by the firm located at 1067 N Mason Road, Suite 3, St. Louis, MO 63141 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.There are no appointments necessary.
