TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (KMOV) – A hairdresser for a Town and Country retirement community is accused of using a master key to steal more than $85,000 worth of items from seven apartments over a five-week stretch in 2011.

Kerri Spink, 39, was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary, six counts of second-degree burglary and three counts of felony stealing.

Police said Spinks stole a master key to rooms at the Garden Villas Retirement Communit in the 13500 block of S. Outer 40 Rd.

Between Sept. 27 and Nov. 12, 2011, authorities said Spinks used the key to break into seven apartments and steal valuables, including cash, collectible coins, jewelry and Sterling silver. The items valued a total of $85,487. Police said the jewelry valued at $50,620 was later recovered.

She is also suspected of removing a necklace from a victim while working on her hair.

According to a police report, Spink broke into an apartment when the resident was home, but left without taking anything.

Spink’s bail was set at $50,000.
