DES PERES, Mo. (KMOV) – Authorities are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank inside a Des Peres grocery story on Wednesday.

Police said the robbery happened at the U.S. Bank inside the Schnucks in the 12300 block of Manchester near New Ballas.

According to authorities, it's the busiest Schnucks store in St. Louis County .

Surveillance photos showed the suspect appeared to be wearing a wig, and authorities have confirmed that that it was indeed a man. They say he stands five-foot-five and weighs about 160 pounds.

He also reportedly handed a note to the teller stating he had a weapon.

The incident comes about a month after a man wearing a wig robbed the U.S. Bank inside a High Ridge Schnucks.

Another similar robbery happened on Monday in Maryland Heights. All incidents are basically the same scenario, with a threatening note being handed over to a teller, and the suspect demanding money.

Police believe it's a man and woman who take turns holding up the banks. They believe the man is responsible for the High Ridge incident, and the woman is behind the Maryland Heights heist.

Schnucks management says they're meeting with police Thursday, but they're stunned that the robbery took place with so many people around.

They hope to talk about how to keep their stores safe, though no shoppers or bank workers have been hurt in the incidents.
