MICHIGAN (KMOV.com)   A Speedway store clerk in Michigan was fired after not following protocol and giving into a robber's demands.

Derrick Rathman was working when an armed robber entered the gas station and demanded cash. Rathman refused. Instead, the clerk chose to set the silent alarm and take matters into his own hands. Rathman won the battle and no cash was handed over.

In a strange turn, the gas station fired him for not giving the money up right away.

Rathman already has found a replacement job.
