Massive sinkhole opens up in Detroit street

(KMOV.com) -- A sinkhole, large enough to swallow a car opened up on a street in Detroit.

Contractors said they were checking a sewer line for ruptures when they noticed the pavement was buckling.

Shortly after that the ground gave way to a nearly 30 feet wide hole.

Officials said they think sewer lines under the street eroded causing the pavement to collapse.
