(KMOV) – The mother of a special needs child was fed up with his school not sending home instructions she needed to help her son with homework.

News 4 contacted Francis Howell School District about Antoinette Richie’s problem and after three weeks of no contact, school officials called her back.

She said her son has an individual education plan or IEP and by law, the school has to provide special instructions to help with his homework.

“If he's failing now before he even gets started good then that means his next three years are going to be even worse and then it'll be we'll put him in an alternative school,” said Richie.

The district told News 4, they will work with Richie to make sure the problem gets fixed.
