For the first time ever, firefighters teamed up with St. Louis County police to enter an unknown active shooter/hostage scenario.
In what should have been a routine fire call quickly became dangerous as the simulated gunman also targeted responders.
After carrying one wounded officer to safety, the gunman was eventually taken down and the hostage returned to safety.
St. Louis County leaders want firefighters to not only imagine, but practice for a situation like Tuesday’s simulation.
