ALTON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A woman was hospitalized after police say she lost control of her vehicle and crashed through a guardrail in Alton Friday morning.
Police said emergency crews responded to the scene near the intersection of Route 3 and Route 111 around 9 a.m.
According to authorities the driver lost control of her minivan and struck a guardrail. The van then rolled down an embankment into a large drainage ditch.
When authorities arrived, they found a woman conscious inside the van.
She was taken to Alton Memorial hospital in unknown condition.
