WEBSTER GROVES, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- For the second time in two days, workers in Webster Groves had to fight a water main break.
The break happened around 7 a.m. on Watson Road, just west of Elm Thursday morning. The pressure of the break caused the pavement on Watson to buckle. Police blocked both eastbound lanes of Watson and have diverted eastbound traffic into the center turn lane near the break.
Crews from the water department arrived on the scene about 10 minutes after the break. The workers were able to get the water shut off and the break contained soon after.
A few area businesses do not have water service at this time. Officials have not said when they expect service to be restored.
On Wednesday afternoon, crews had tend to a water main break at Plymouth and Big Bend. There is no word if the most recent break is a direct result of the first.
