(KMOV.com) -- The St. Charles Fire Department rescued a person whose truck got stuck in flood waters in O’Fallon, Missouri early Friday morning.

Firefighters said they received a call from teenagers around 5 a.m. Friday after they drove past a vehicle in water in the 1200 block of Firma Road.

Authorities responded to the scene and found two teenage boys had gotten lost and drove a truck into a water-filled ditch. Firefighters said one of the teens got out for help while the other stayed in the vehicle.

Officials said the he was later rescued by first responders who were about waist-deep in water. Rescue boats were called to the scene but were not needed.

St. Charles Fire Department said the victim did not sustain any injuries. There was no word on if he were transported to a hospital.

Firefighters said the area was barricaded because the road, which is near Peruque Creek, was low lying and often floods.

Officials said it is unclear if the teens drove around the barricades or not.

Additional information was not immediately available.
