(KMOV.com) – A suspect in custody after allegedly leading police on a pursuit through two St. Louis-area cities
Police say a suspect was driving in Velda City when officers attempted to perform a traffic stop. Authorities said as officers approached the vehicle, the suspect pulled away from the scene.
Police pursued the suspect and they headed west on Interstate 70.
Several other officers assisted in the pursuit as the suspect reached speeds of 90 to 100 mph during the chase.
The chase ended after officers were layed out spike strips in front of the fleeing vehicle.
Officers took the suspect into custody at Interstate 70 and Brian Road in St. Charles County.
Police told News 4 the suspect is known to officers and is currently on parole for assault.
