MARISSA, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- Several elementary and high school students were transported to the hospital after an accident involving a school bus in St. Clair County on Friday.
Officials said 23 students were onboard the school bus when it was rear-ended by a pick-up truck near the intersection of Main and 7th Street in downtown Marissa, Illinois around 3:15 p.m.
A witness told News 4 there were no serious injuries, but nine students were taken to Sparta Community Hospital as a precaution. Most of them appeared to suffer bumps and bruises, according to officials.
