ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a pizza delivery driver outside a south St. Louis Dominos late Monday night. It marks the third time a St. Louis-area delivery driver has been robed in the past nine days.
Police said the Domino's Pizza delivery driver was in the restaurant's parking lot in the 3100 block of South Grand around 10 p.m. when he was approached by a suspect armed with handgun.
Authorities said the gunman took $16 from the driver and then fled the scene on foot. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described to police as a black male. He was wearing all black clothing and a dark blue or black bandanna.
Police are continuing to investigate the robbery and say they are stepping up efforts to keep delivery drivers safe.
This is the third robbery involving a pizza delivery driver in the last two weeks.
A 39-year-old Imo's Pizza delivery driver was shot and killed in the Dellwood neighborhood on November 5. Last Friday, a Domino's Pizza delivery driver was approached by a armed man wearing a Spiderman mask in an area just south of Spanish Lake. That driver was not injured.
Suspects have been charged in both cases.
