(KMOV.com) – Six kids were expected to be OK after an explosion blew out all the windows of their north St. Louis home Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, fire crews were called to the 5400 block of Beacon around 7:15 a.m. after someone reported the explosion.
When firefighters arrived, they reported heavy flames shooting from the home.
According to reports, six children, all between the ages of 7and 10, were in the home getting ready for school. They all escaped without injury.
The homeowner, who works at Children’s Hospital, told News 4 she left for work at 6:15 a.m. At 7:17 a.m., she got a call from someone telling her that her house exploded.
Fire officials are looking into what caused the explosion.
The kids were later picked up by their principal and taken to school.
