MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KMOV)— Two people were hospitalized after multiple-semi trucks wrecked on Interstate 70 in Highland, Illinois early Tuesday morning.
According to police, the accident happened just before 2 a.m. near miled marker 30 on I-70.
Police said the wreck left one semi truck overturned on the interstate. Another semi truck was stopped on the shoulder in the westbound lanes facing east and a third truck was stranded in the median.
Crews worked for hours to clear the scene and reopened all westbound lanes of I-70 around 7 a.m.
The cause of the wreck is unknown.
