Police: St. Louis County teen shot in arm while playing with hand gun

DELLWOOD, Mo (KMOV.com) – St. Louis County police responded on the scene of a shooting in Dellwood Tuesday night.

The shooting appears to be accidental, as police report a teen was hit in the arm while he and others were playing with a gun.

According to police, two teens found a gun and were handling it in the basement of a home on Olney Drive when it accidentally fired.

The 16-year-old was transported to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Police report the weapon was a .22 caliber hand gun.
