Police: Suspects beat elderly man during attempted robbery at Hardee's

(KMOV.com) -- Police are searching for a man and woman they believe are connected to an attempted robbery in the Metro-East.

Collinsville Police said they responded to an attempted robbery call at the Hardee’s restaurant located in the 500 block of Beltline Road around 8:24 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived on the scene, they were told a male suspect allegedly followed an elderly man into the restroom, hit him and attempted to steal the man’s wallet.

Police said the male suspect was also with a female.

Video obtained from the restaurant showed the suspects fled the scene in a white Ford Escape, according to police.

The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Beltline Road.
