Three gas station robberies across the KMOV viewing area in less than 24 hours have left police wondering if the incidents are connected. In two of the incidents, the suspects and loot were very similar.
Just before midnight, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and brandishing guns barged into the Circle K on South Broadway. The men demanded cash, cigarettes, and lottery tickets from the clerk.
Just a few hours later, the similar hooded men barged into a 7-11 in University City making the same demands.
“I’ve seen people in there before that looked, I guess, suspicious, but usually it’s pretty calm, “said Kenneth Williams, a Circle K customer.
And the third robbery took place at a Circle K in Bridgeton around 2:30 a.m. Monday, December 23. Only, this time only one crook was involved in the robbery.
When asked if the Bridgeton incident was connected to the other two, Bridgeton Police weren’t so convinced. City Police and University City Police, however, are working to determine if their incidents are related.
