(KMOV) – Police were looking for two suspects after a man was shot with an assault rifle in north St. Louis on Tuesday.

Authorities said two men were sitting in a car in the 5000 block of Cote Brilliante near Kingshighway around 12 p.m. when a Green Audi A8 pulled up next to them.

Authorities said a masked man holding an assault rifle jumped out of the Audi and fired several shots into the front the victims’ Pontiac Grand Am, striking the passenger multiple times.

The victim was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Several officers were at the scene gathering evidence and checking out bullet holes in the windshield.

The incident happened in front of the Dismas House, which is a halfway house for released convicts.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was random.

The investigation is ongoing.
