(KMOV.com) A natural gas pipeline ruptured in Houstonia, Mo. Early Friday morning.

The pipeline, which runs from Michigan to Texas, exploded after midnight sending flames high into the sky. 

Officials have requested a five mile area surrounding the plant be evacuated.

Houstonia is located between Columbia and Kansas City, Mo.

No injuries have been reported.

No other details were immediately available.
