(KMOV.com) -- The Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis is renovating 400 rooms while 200 more rooms will close for work during the summer.
The Millennium Hotel is one of downtown’s biggest hotels and the renovation may impact the busy Cardinals' baseball season.
More than half of the Millennium’s rooms were closed on Sunday.
The closures are a part of a comprehensive renovation that was originally slated to begin in the Fall. However, Millennium’s parent company, based out of London, decided to fast track all of the changes.
The St. Louis Convention and Visitor's Commission said it is working with the Millennium and other downtown hotels to relocate previously scheduled meetings and conventions that will be affected by the renovation.
