McDonald's manager accused of running payroll scam

JERSEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Jereseyville police arrested a woman on suspicion of a payroll scam that netted over $20,000.

Theresa Bryan, 54, of Shipman was arrested Monday on charges of theft over $10,000. According to authorities, Bryan was the subject of an ongoing investigation which determined she was logging payroll hours for former employees at the Jerseyville McDonald’s. Bryan was the general manager at the time.

Police say there were at least four former employee names used to create fraudulent checks. Bryan is suspected of forging the payroll checks and taking possession of the money.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the total amount taken in 2012 is around $26,000.
