(KMOV.com) -- With less than two weeks until Thanksgiving, the nation’s largest turkey producer is facing a shortage.

Butterball said they are running short of fresh, large birds.

They said its poultry had trouble gaining weight on some of its farms, but didn’t explain why.

The company still has a full supply of large frozen turkeys across the country.
