(KMOV.com) – Kirkwood police are investigating a stabbing Tuesday in what is normally a quiet suburban neighborhood.

Police are interviewing witnesses and piecing together what happened. Kirkwood Police Chief Jack Plummer says a victim was stabbed in the neck and taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The incident happened along Boaz Avenue.

Plummer also says a suspect is in custody.

The circumstances that lead up to this stabbing are unclear, but the chief tells News 4 the victim and suspect knew each other.
