(KMOV.com) -- Former Illinois State Trooper Matt Mitchell, whose car struck and killed two Collinsville sisters in 2007 is making his argument to have his driver’s license re-instated.
The State of Illinois denied his request in 2012. The license was revoked after his conviction for reckless homicide in the accident that killed Jessica and Kelly Uhl.
Mitchell was driving in excess of 125 miles per hour while talking on his cell phone. Mitchell pled his case to the state hearing officer in Mount Vernon Thursday. A decision is expected in the next 30 to 90 days.
