Flash flooding caused bridge to close in Jefferson County

(KMOV) – Thursday’s flash flooding caused some public safety concern for people Jefferson County.

The fast moving waters of Glaize Creek caused pavement to deteriorate on an old highway bridge, near Antonia. Winds also knocked a tree branch onto the bridge, making it impassible.

Drivers parked in a nearby lot ended up walking home and many were concerned because emergencty responders could not get through on the bridge.

The incident affected more than 50 people who live off the road and use the bridge daily.

The bridge has since reopened.
