(KMOV) – The city of Alton, Illinois is considering a ban on vicious dogs in city parks.

Alderwoman Alice Martin said the situation has become too dangerous at Hellrung Park. Martin has devised a proposal that would fine owners of dogs acting aggressively in the park.

“My main concern is the children because this is where the children play and the dogs I saw were … too close for comfort for little kids,” said Martin.

Martin acknowledged that there has been no incident with children and aggressive dogs in the park, so far.
