GREENFIELD, Wisconsin -- A Wisconsin boy was caught on camera making an anonymous donation to his local police department.

Greenfield police officers were determined to thank him, so they released the video.

It turned out that 11-year-old Max had saved up to donate for a very personal reason.

“My grandpa, who I never got to meet, he was a police officer, and he died at the line of duty," Max said. "One day that's going to make a difference. If every person would do that, we would such a great world. It would be awesome.”

Max donated $10.03.

The department hasn't decided how to spend the money.
