Raw: Suspected bank robber caught after chase through St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A man wanted for robbing several banks was captured in north St. Louis Wednesday following a pursuit through several parts of the area.

Chief Laws with the Overland Police Department said one of his officers spotted the suspect Wednesday afternoon. He said the suspect is wanted for several bank robberies, but did not say when or where those robberies took place.

Overland officers as well as officers from St. Ann and the Missouri Highway Patrol pursued the suspect through north St. Louis County. The chase ended at the intersection of McDonnell Boulevard and Banshee Road after the suspect crashed his vehicle.

According to sources, the suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
