GENEVA (AP) — German automaker BMW is discussing possible cooperation with U.S. giant General-Motors.
BMW chairman Norbert Reithofer says his company already has joint ventures with French firm Peugeot in Europe and Japan's Toyota in Asia.
He says the luxury car company is now on the lookout for a partner in North America.
Reithofer told reporters Tuesday at the Geneva Motor Show that "there are talks with GM."
He declined to say what areas of cooperation the two companies are exploring.
PSA Peugeot Citroen and General Motors last week announced a strategic alliance to jointly develop vehicle platforms and save costs by pooling purchases.
Reithofer said the U.S.-French deal wouldn't affect BMW's joint engine and electric car development with Peugeot.
