ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Drivers face more weekend traffic delays as construction continues on Interstate 64 this weekend.

The right two lanes of westbound I-64 on the Poplar Street Bridge closed about an hour after the start of NLCS Game 5. MoDOT officials say these lanes will remain closed until noon on Sunday.

Traffic was backed up from the I-64 and I-55 merger to the Poplar Street Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Drivers were also stuck in long waits on the Martin Luther King Bridge.

Two lanes of eastbound I-64 remained open for the Cardinals game, as did exit ramps to 6th and 11th Street. MoDOT officials said these lanes were kept open for about an hour after the game to allow Illinois fans to return home.

The 14th Street ramp from eastbound I-64 remains closed through Sunday.

MoDOT says construction work continues beyond the weekend, and through the end of November. For more information, visit www.modot.gov.
