ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Some St. Charles County businesses are worried about the potential impact of the upcoming Blanchette Bridge construction.
County leaders are trying to prepare for the partial closure. They are working with the business community to avoid having a bad holiday shopping season.
In addition to the wayfinding committee, and ride-sharing program, the county is starting a campaign to appeal to holiday shoppers.
It's called Shopping with the Saints. The goal of the campaign is to encourage people to shop locally, in St. Charles and St. Peters.
St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce President Scott Tate says it's a priority for the entire county community. "The concern is people who come from St. Louis County to St. Charles County. The bridge isn't technically closed; it's still open you just have to figure out detour routes," Tate said.
