Jackknifed semi causes major traffic backup on I-70

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – Traffic was tied up on eastbound Interstate 70 Friday morning after a semi-truck left the roadway and jackknifed.

According to reports, the accident happened just before 8 a.m. near the Highway 170 intersection in north St. Louis County.

While crews worked to clear the wreckage, traffic was reduced to a single lane.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the truck’s driver to lose control. Police did not say if the driver was injured or if any other vehicles were involved.
